There is no doubt about it. I should be sleeping

It is way too late to be doing this but I want to write something. Not writing feels like letting another day slip away. I could go on again about how much I don't want this to end, but I think that could get old fast. We are in Kingston, TN this evening, it has been a quick stop but a good one. My dad and stepmom donating some money to get the team dinner at the local funfest. Tonight it was a gathering of 12 restaurants and some live country music. I got mexican food and it was delicious. We… Continue

Pushing Onward

Once again, it is late and time is limited, but I do have a few quick things to say! Nashville was amazing. It was SO great, I absolutely love this city, and every time I visit, it lives up to the expectations I made of it before my first visit. I think I still want to live there some day. I just need to find a reason to now. That being said... my highlight of Nashville was Saturday: I got to ride!!!! :) I had never before been on a road bike, but borrowed Criselda's bike to take part in the c… Continue

(ALMOST) walking in Memphis...

One thing I have discovered on this bike trip is that the plans we so carefully make and the routes we so carefully plan can fall apart without notice. Case in point, we crossed into Mississippi after leaving West Helena Arkansas and biked past acres of cotton and then turned onto an extremely famous road in the world of blues. Highway 61. So, check this out: http://www.lelandbluespipeline.com/hi61/tour.html , or this :http://www.nationalgeographic.com/traveler/articles/1121_blueshighway.html ,… Continue

Nashvegas!

I don't even know where to start. We have had the most incredible weekend in Nashville. It was definitely everything that I hoped it would be and more! We arrived at the Blood:Water offices on Friday and just have felt loved and loved since. The amazing people that work and intern there have worked so hard to make everything fantastic for the team and it is so much appreciated. Thanks y'all!!! The city ride was great. There were a lot of people that came out to support the cause. We had a nice,… Continue

Nashville

We just got back from the Blood:Water benefit show in Nashville. 3rd and Lindsley was sold out thanks to Mathew Perryman Jones and Sixpence None the Richer. Lightning 100, a local radio station here in Nashville, broadcast the show live from the venue. It was another great night and we had a blast being there. Nashville has been a weird stop for me. It's where I lived the past few months but I don't have a place here now. I have lots of friends here, but I only kind of got to see them. And tomo… Continue

Can this really be week five???

We finished out out week 4 tearing up thru Arkansas with our weekend destination being Little Rock/Pine Bluff. Arkansas was an interesting ride and I was totally fascinated to see many dead armadillos STILL on the side of the road. How far do these gross things range??? Anyways,… Continue

The Music City Miracle

Yes, we have arrived in Nashville which I like to call the Music City Miracle. At the beginning of it all, none of us would have imagined that by the time we reached Nashville we would have raised almost our entire financial goal for this trip. I hope that as we ride we blow away our goal all for the love of Africa. I've never met a group of adventurers with such a passion for one set of people (Africans). I've learned a lot from my fellow riders about what has now become a theme for our trip. T… Continue
