Fundraising Tips

If you have never raised money before (or even if you have), it’s probably a little intimidating. Listed below are some tips and ideas on how to raise funds online without a bunch of work.

A Personal Touch

1. Download Flyers >>
2. Host a party, hand out your flyers, talk about Blood:Water Mission, explain the Ride:Well Tour and your involvement.
3. Tell people they can make donations throughout the party on your laptop in the corner (have your browser set to the donation page).

2. Send a letter and flier to all your friends and family letting them know that they can help you meet your fundraising goals online at www.ridewelltour.com.

Social Media

1. Start a profile on the Ride:Well Network or use your facebook or Myspace account.
2. Embed the following html code on your Ride:Well Page or facebook/Myspace page:

3. Send a facebook or myspace message to all your friends, or let people know you are raising funds for Blood:Water through the Ride:Well Tour, link them back to your Ride:Well Profile page or Ride:Well donation page http://tinyurl.com/cazkqd
4. If you have Twitter, tweet something like:
   a) I’m biking many miles to raise money for clean water/blood in Africa, donate here http://tinyurl.com/cazkqd, or

Email Campaign

Send a message to your all your friends with the following text (you can change it a bit if you like)…

Dear Friend,

I’m cycling and/or hiking a bunch of miles to raise funds and awareness for Blood:Water Mission, an organization that helps underdeveloped communities in Africa establish clean-water wells, latrines, and health clinics. I’ll ride in the Ride:Well Dallas Area Ride on June 27 or hike in the Dallas Area Water Walk on July 11.

Would you please consider sacrificing financially as I sacrifice physically for this cause? I’d like to raise at least $250. Visit www.ridewelltour.org to find out more about Blood:Water Mission and my cycling/hiking endeavors. I will meet my fundraising goal, if 10 of my friends or family donate $25 each.
