I got my first road bike in 2005 after an unsuccessful and injury-ridden running career. I've been hooked ever since and spend way too much time training. I plan on transferring my discipline to train into more important areas of life, but that is a slow and stubborn process.
Right now, I plan on joining the DC ride and pacing my good friend, Jessica Blocker, to the final sprint into DC for the Green Jersey. Oh wait this isn't the Tour, is it?
Being true empty nesters, we are going to be out of town the next three weekends, but maybe after that might consider it .. two old folks trying to keep up with seasoned athletes .. haha
NYC to DC .. all of you are crazy !!
The DC ride alone will be a challenge for me :-P
The "Bianchi" going across the back of your shirt is what caught my eye when you were riding Olson and then I realized it was you. Such dedication to ride those hills.
Angela is talking about us renting bikes in DC so we can fly instead of driving, but we'll see. At home, Fred rides his old college bike. It's good for a great laugh.
