What's your connection to the Ride:Well Tour?
Cross-Country Cyclist, Friend of Blood:Water
About Me:
I love adventure!

I have a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to bicycle across America to raise funds and awareness for Blood:Water Mission, an organization that helps underdeveloped communities in Africa establish clean-water wells, latrines, and health clinics. We will be stopping in communities and churches to talk about the water and blood crises in Africa and enlist people in active support of Blood:Water Mission.

Would you please consider sacrificing financially as I sacrifice physically for this cause? In order to go I need to raise $4,895. I will meet my fundraising goal, if 100 of my friends and/or family donate $50 each.

I officially love my team!

From the first time we met in California I knew we had a phenomenal group of riders. Its awesome to have a team where you can be totally spent physically and in so much pain and still know you have some more hills to climb, but somehow some way we end up laughing, smiling, making jokes, and find words of encouragement to share and push each other. Some of the most encouraging moments come from teammates who are in far worse shape than myself due to hurt knees, injuries from a crash, and unknown… Continue

I officially hate hills!

We just went through the most mind grueling day of the trip so far. We went about 98 miles of nothing but rolling hills. If we were not flying down the hill we were slowly riding up them. Just before lunch I notice some dark scattered clouds and did not think anything looked too bad. I still didn't think anything would happen until rain started down pouring and we scattered under the roof of a closed gas station. We let it pass while having lunch and then when the coast looked clear we ride off.… Continue

Blessings...

We are in one of the most amazing communities I have ever been to. We are being hosted by Desert Springs Church in Chandler AZ. We ride into the church with ICE cold towels being handed to us to cool off after a 127 mile ride in 100+ degree heat. We then have amazing bar b que dinner and then go to our host home. We arrive at an amazing house that has a 5 car garage. Need I say more on how big it is? We stayed with Neil and Jennifer Jones. They are the most amazing host family. They had two boys… Continue

Adios California Hello Arizona

Today we are in Yuma, Az. We left California but it was not easy getting through her. Four flat tires, one broken spoke, one bent spoke, one broken chain, and one ridiculously large mountain. We are currently riding through the desert and it is incredibly hot!

We have an awesome team assembled here. By far our hardest day was by far my favorite so far. I ended up riding with Seth and Bethany and things were going great for the first 15 miles but as soon as we got to the mountains I realized we… Continue

Fellow Riders: There Is Excitment in Red Oak....

This past week at the Gathering, which is the young adults group I go to on Thursday nights started the promo for the Ride:Well Tour this year. It is awesome and such a morale booster to see how much this community is behind this event. The leadership of this community as well as the community it self is really behind this cause. I am very excited that we get several days off here. The people here are simply amazing and have such a passion for serving God. It will be such an awesome time when we… Continue

Hey! looking over the teams profiles and saw on yours that you're a teacher in Ferris?! I had no idea. I graduated from there.
Anyway, you guys are doing so great! We can't wait to have you and the team in Red Oak this week.
Keep it up!

Hey!! Not much. What's going on with you? It's funny you should mention the blog thing, because I had definitely started one the other day and actually just finished it! It's nothing special, but I figured I should probably blog at least once before we leave. Haha! Talk soon.

training is alright.

there have been some very hard and down-heartening days recently.
I have wanted to give up alot lately. But I think that is not just training-related. There are a bunch of other factors/stressors of late.
would appreciate prayers and such.
how about you? :)

Thanks!
I'm pretty sure we have about 15 riders. Each person is supposed to have a support person, also. So, that makes about 30 people on our team.

Ya, I'm excited that we will be there a few days and I'll get to see my brothers!

training is good so far :) I've been mountain biking a lot since the roads in MN aren't really in great condition for riding yet (at least not for me). I just was in southern IL over my spring break so I got several good rides in there out on the country roads. I'm looking forward to getting some long rides in soon hopefully.

Where you able to get a few long rides in over your spring break?

YES, those are my brothers... funny. It's sweet that we will be stopping at your church along the way. I'm super pumped about stopping there since i'll see my brothers.
