What's your connection to the Ride:Well Tour?
Cross-Country Cyclist, Advocate, Friend of Blood:Water, Friend of Venture Expeditions, Friend of a Rider
About Me:

I have a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to bicycle across America to raise funds and awareness for Blood:Water Mission, an organization that helps underdeveloped communities in Africa establish clean-water wells, latrines, and health clinics. We will be stopping in communities and churches to talk about the water and blood crises in Africa and enlist people in active support of Blood:Water Mission.

In retrospect, growing up in a small town gave me a lot of insights and benefits that I'm realizing as I get older; however, I still have a tremendous curiousity towards the world and issues man kind face on a grander scale. It's a fun journey, and hopefully I can influence and inspire someone along the way.

Authentic Blend of 23 Flavors

True statement: Dr. Pepper is one of the tastiest palette teasers there are - maybe it’s the authentic blend of 23 flavors, I dunno. With that said, it has been the goal and dream of Jacob and I to enjoy DP on a regular basis and during each water break as a way to “refuel” - casually as a thirst quencher but more specifically aimed at a sponsorship. If you happen to know anyone that is close to Mr. Dr. Pepper please let him know about us. Thanks - Cody and Jacob *Derson duo*.

Enchanted by sunsets.

I've never seen anything quite like the sunsets here in New Mexico. I heard someone say the other day that you will never see the same sunset here, but God, with his infinite imagination, will only paint another unique and exquisite in its own way. That couldn't be more true, and what a way to end the day.

Aside from the artistic beauty that are New Mexico sunsets, I'm a little indifferent about the state as far as riding goes. Crossing over into New Mexico was amazing! Rolling hills, subtle sc… Continue

"Time after Time"

It seems to be a familiar tune that comes up as we ride. Random bursts of sing song really soothe the soul, even more so on the bicycle. If you're a rider, try it. If you're not a rider, well music is really a soothe all solution, especially the classics like, "Time after time".

If you fall,
I will catch you
I will be waiting
time after time.

That's really the only part of the song we know, so we end up singing it several times until another stanza of another song pops up.

So anyways, here it… Continue

Here's to you "Mother Falcon"

It's 4:30am....creativity in title creation doesn't come around till at least 8am. In any case, I saw the preview for the wrap on the van and thought it's title was rather fitting, and it also made me laugh at all the names either myself or friends have ever given our motorized counterparts. With that said, here's to you, Mother Falcon...I'm excited to be a little tercel under your exquisite winged protection.

I'm not sure what any of that had to do with anything, but I figured I haven't blogge… Continue

He is risen indeed!

Hey friends!

Easter thoughts-
Although I had to work, today has been such a day of reflection and humility. What a great honor to be risen as a new creation because the One that was given as the ultimate sacrifice did so first. Indeed He is risen, conquering sin and death and granting us the gift of eternal life! I don't think it's a coincidence that Easter falls in the beginning of Spring. It's a season of new life, and never before has that meant more to me than now. What a challenge we have… Continue

Cody, I'm Anthony's mom. He just called and told me you had a fight with a street grate and lost! Stitches over your eye and eyebrow! I'm so sorry! Feel better and heal quickly! Beware those street grates! They can be mean and sneaky!

In reverse order, yes, I am off the list. My boss likes me again. I've actually taken a leave of absence to focus on other work more related to a field I might actually work in someday-- marketing and web development. So, that is keeping me busy 'till mid-August. Home life has enough troubles of its own, but definitely, I wish I were there on the road. I hope you can catch up with Mr. Larson. Buena onda, he is. Ask Criselda for that one :) Take care, Cody!

Ok, man, I did some research, via GoogleMaps, and found that Mt. Vernon, Ohio is almost the same distance away from us...55 miles! That would be 110 in a day. You think we could do something like that, maybe at the beginning of June, or maybe sooner? We could eat a rhinosaurus, then ride back (that's what I'll need to eat after all that riding). Just a thought. haha.

Hey! Good to hear from you. Sorry it took me so long to get back to you. Elyria is in the Cleveland area right? Because Grove City is just south of Columbus. Maybe when we get closer to June we can both ride, and meet in the middle, or something! That would be fun. Or if I'm ever up that way, I'll give you a holler (no, I don't regularly say words like "holler").

Cody I definitely know what you mean about riding solo...Its just not that fun. Check with your local bike shop to see if they do any rides together....I know there is one close to here that does a 30 miler every Saturday.

Ahh well, its that time to go to work. It aint like the good ole days where you can just skip class. Man we had it easy in college.
