What's your connection to the Ride:Well Tour?
Cross-Country Cyclist, Friend of a Rider
About Me:
I'm going on the '09 tour, and I couldn't be more excited!!!

And now my friend Bethany is going, too!

what else...I'm a senior Christian Ethics major, Human Studies Minor (basically social work) at Union University, and I can't wait to graduate! I learned about the Ride:Well tour when they stopped at Union last year. I do triathlon, too, but I guess I'll get back to that more after the tour, and I grew up figure skating which I hope to get back to someday. I love to write, and I've always wanted to write a book. I'm from Nashville where I have the most amazing family and best friends in the world. I guess that's all for now.

It’s been awhile since my last update, so I decided it might be a good idea to do that right now while I’ve got a hold of someone else’s computer and some down time.

The first thing that comes to mind that I really want to share is something I’ve been seeing a lot lately. Monday, just as we were leaving Socorro, NM, I hit some gravel in the road and fell off my bike. That part’s really not too big a deal, since now I’m feeling fine. Anyway, it was the rest of the day that mattered. That morning… Continue

Something Good

This thing is pretty great. It feels good to be a part of something good. We are just ordinary people. But God is using us in not so ordinary ways because he can do that. We’re just people trying to know God more and look to him and wanting to love people and be a small part of ushering in his kingdom. Default mode is to be concerned about ourselves, but slowly and surely, our God is holding our hands and taking us on this journey of transformation and worship. I’m just trying to follow.

Happy 1 Week Anniversary, R:WT 09!

Hey friends and family and anyone else who decided to take a couple minutes to read this. First of all, thanks so much for your support and prayers. Seriously, thanks SO much! It’s so amazing and humbling when I think of all the people scattered across the country who are thinking and praying for us often.

Hate that I’m just now getting around to blogging because that means it’s going to be pretty tough to choose what to write about. Drew just asked me a few minutes ago what the highlight of th… Continue

Two Weeks Left!

whoa, that's crazy.

so, before I left Jackson, I had been improving pretty well...but once exams hit, well, yeah...

I decided I wouldn't stress too much about getting in awesome rides during exam week because they would be my last finals, and it was really important for me to do well on them. then came graduation (yay!)...family came down to visit, lots of parties, and moving home...obviously not a lot of opportunities there. now i'm home, and my bike's in the shop, getting a great last tune-u… Continue

endorphins!

Even though Bethany and I began our training journey pretty far behind some of our teammates, I feel like we are improving really quickly! Out mileage and mph are increasing in pretty big intervals. It seems like not long ago that we had our first ride together of only about ten miles. Two days ago we rode 40 :o) It was such a fantastic ride! First of all, the majority of the route was brand new to us...which is sometimes can make me a little nervous because you don't know what kinds of roadbloc… Continue

things are up and down.
I have loved being home...but also mixed feelings (perhaps because it has been such a short trip).

I am SO nervous, scared, unsure.
But today was the first somewhat peaceful day (inwardly).
so, perhaps I will be more ready in a week's time.
:)
from you last blog post, it seems you are doing well.
mailed your bike yet?
p.s. we should talk/need to talk about returning plans (after the tour...i.e. are you and your family going to visit family in NY still? can I tag along since I need to ride back to TN? etc....) I'll give you a call when I get back to the states.
((hugs))

That blog was awesome; thank you. One of the staff will feature it tomorrow. I will definitely pray. Funny, today Lisa Rudzik and I were on facebook talking about how we need to be praying for this. God IS up to something! See you in a few (weeks).
Blessings,
Andy

Hey Erin! looking forward to biking with you this summer. Do you know a freshman at Union named Kevin Reed? He's a tall, red haired MK from Turkey and he was at the school I taught at.
