The thing about the ride this year is that it is on June 27 ish and we dont get there until July 10th so I dont think we are going to be riding with them. I think this is something they are going to do but I really want to ride with them. Its on the events thing up at the top if you want to check it out.

Nope. I'm going to the International House of Prayer in Kansas City to visit my sister. Thursday evening would work for me, though...

Hey, I had a great time this weekend, and I am very, very excited about this summer.

Also, let me know if you want to do some training rides sometime.

I saw a friend named Kevin yesterday before I left and he has the same bike as you do! He gave me the back rack off his bike so we'll have matching racks.

I am really pumped that we stop there. It will be nice to be home for a few days while we recoup. How is training going?

About Me:
I am really excited to integrate physical challenge with social action in the 09 Ride:Well tour! I am passionate about global awareness and love adventure! I enjoy the outdoors and am super pumped about cycling across country with a team this summer and seeing what God has in store for us!

I am embarking on a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to bicycle across America to raise funds and awareness for Blood:Water Mission, an organization that helps underdeveloped communities in Africa establish clean-water wells, latrines, and health clinics. We will be stopping in communities and churches to talk about the water and blood crises in Africa and enlist people in active support of Blood:Water Mission.

Clean water and sanitation are essential to the well being of every person. In Africa, the lack of these two things greatly effect children and people with HIV. (More than half of the girls who drop out of school in Africa do so because of a lack of access to safe/clean water and sanitation. *unicef) Any amount can change lives, would you please consider sacrificing financially as I sacrifice physically for this cause?

I did the cycling world a favor...

A couple days ago...i don't remember the town or the date (concussion), on HWY 11, I hit a dog. Favor - this dog will "never" run out in front of a cyclist again...no need to thank me. (I don't know what happened to the dog)...
I don't remember anything from seeing the dog to being in the moving ambulance with Criselda going to the emergency room...It's weird not remebering an hour of your life. I was told I kept asking what happened and if my bike was o.k. :)
It was the greatest hospital i have… Continue

I experienced something amazing today

I experienced something amazing today... today, wrecked me. We went to an inner city mission in Longview, TX today for lunch. Last year this group of people gave $2,000 to Blood Water...now they have raised over $6,000...they have an opportunity to give donations everyday at lunch. When I saw people who don't have much come and give the change they have...I was humbled and in awe of the pure beauty around me. I sat by Greg at lunch and he, 1st made sure I knew who Jesus was, second talked about… Continue

Don't fight the hand of God...

I talked with the team a bit about purpose this week. I said we are each here for a purpose and that our purpose may end up being totally different than we anticipated coming into the tour. I talked about how we each have something unique that only we can offer to one another/ the churches/ random people we meet/ Africa. Sometimes it’s hard to listen to your own advice…

A week or so into the tour my right knee started hurting. Then on our ride out of Anza Borrego it reached the point where I co… Continue

Whoa...this is going to be awesome!!

We made it into San Diego today - 66 miles. It's the longest ride I have ever done and am feeling well...a bit tired :) but well. Funny story though: I was going up the last LARGE hill of the day and was going rather slow...so slow in fact that i just fell over :) It was hilarious! I wish you all could have seen it.

Regarding Long Beach: I was so impressed and blessed by the hospitality of the church. They are amazing people and I couldn't have asked for a better place to start the ride. They g… Continue

things i learned from my 46 mile ride today...

1. Tyler's great and has awesome cycling advice :)
2. I should listen to my doctor and bring my inhaler with me all the time :(
3. I hate that for my lungs to be fully functioning i'm dependent on an outside source :(
4. I so am not a fast cyclist... and that's ok :)
5. I love riding my bike :)
6. I can't wait for us to get out there and see the country and have crazy gas station/rest stop experiences :)
