Connection to the Ride:Well Tour?
Cross-Country Rider
Birthday:
May 1, 1982
About Me:
Energtetic, passionate, dedicated....

I am Kenyan, 25 undergraduate in Kenyatta University. I am a volunteer program trainer with I Choose Life – Africa (www.ichooselife.or.ke), an organization that conducts peer education training and life skills capacity building in institutions of higher learning in Kenya. I am so excited to participate in the ride well tour - as the African rider. I believe in bringing passion and hope for a better life; working towards improving and transforming lives. Inspiration guides me to being with people who face excruciating challenges from HIV/AIDS. I have talent in - Speech writing, public speaking, motivational speaking, oral presentations, and profiling.

I am spiritual, I have passion for improving/transforming the quality of human life, I believe in supporting to inspire people to assert their rights to better and healthier lives. Advancing essential healthcare and sanitation can save souls worldwide.

Irrespective of the filed of interest, I believe that access to quality life is a fundamental human right and thus I intend to work towards making this a reality. Ultimately, in light of I Choose Life’s mission, I envisage being that part of concerted efforts towards realizing an AIDS Free Africa. I have first hand experience in the need for providing hope and humanitarian assistance, now more than ever for the internally displaced persons after post election violence in Kenya.

I want to benefit from the intense adventurous and extreme nature of Blood: Water mission/Ride Well Tour intense faith-forming and life-shaping experiences. I appreciate physical challenge; endure scarcity of resources and opportunity; I ultimately envisage identifying with Christ’s sacrifice, compassion, courage and character.

In tandem with B:WM mission, I intend to discover the potency of my strength in sacrifice for the needy, my courage in adversity, my ability to talk and walk hope amidst injustice and disaster. I want to provide recognizable effortful contribution to linking of needs, talents and continents as explicitly stipulated by BWM.

Thanks guys, am so excited to join u in this LIFETIME ride!

April 15, 2007 - Bonding with the communities in Nyanza - Western Kenya.

We flew from Nairobi at 640am (retuning at 1840 everything has a 40 with airline fly 540). Touched down at Kisumu 45 minutes later, had a slow drive to the GWAKO ministries office where we met Benjamin, the founder and director of GWAKO. In the office Oshem, a project officer and Lilian, clinical officer working with GWAKO to promote hygiene and sanitation, joined us. Joel of BWM and Tameshgen of Lifewater International were in attendance, ready for the field visit. From Nairobi, we had travele… Continue

Jars of Clay, Sons of Lwala & Eunice Kapandura

Monday March 31, 2008 It’s not a bad day, save for the pain of loosing a friend and not being able to make it up to them – after fervent efforts, still no reply from them. Last night I slept at 2 am. I went to share time with my pal Chris and use his internet, which happens to get fast when most people sleep this sides of the clouds. I spend long hours online trying to learn more about B:WM and Jars of Clay. While reading through the message board of B:WM I discovered The Earth Expedition missi… Continue

Progress...

Today Sunday March 30, 2008 – It has been a hectic day. Early morning service at the basilica – I got reminded that its post Easter time “I renewed my commitment to the Lord during the resurrection, stick to them SON!" Thereafter, had a meeting with a friend who we fell out a few weeks ago, it seemed pretty too late to mend bridges but I pray I will have the courage to eventually make it up to them sometime, even if it takes several years – God give me strength. Dad also dropped in my house to p… Continue

Deprivation, who suffers?

Today – March 27, 2008 Its rainy and the day is rather slow. A cloud of anxiety – awaiting the president and prime minister designate to announce the new cabinet any time, covers the country. Many questions linger in the minds of Kenyans…. the greed in our leaders, fighting over who will take what ministry. Its now I am realizing that there are some more powerful ministries than others (how and why, I cant explain). It is almost a month now since violence subsided. But the relative calm cannot… Continue
