What's your connection to the Ride:Well Tour?
Cross-Country Cyclist, Advocate
About Me:
By profession I am a student and trainer. Hopefully there's more to it than that ;)
Most importantly: I love God. I love people.
Imperfectly, I attempt living according to that standard. Love.

The Ride: I'm stoked and blessed to have the opportunity to join Blood:Water's 1000 Wells Project. This trip allows me to exercise my passions. Love, Compassion, Aid and Adventure! It is my passion to pursue a life that reflects the awesome love of God. I see this ride/adventure as a perfect opportunity to live out compassion by helping raise funds and awareness for bringing clean water and aid to people who need it. Last summer I had the opportunity to engage the African people and culture first hand in Uganda. They blessed me with their stories, smiles, joy and hope. Amazing... that word is the best way I can sum that experience. That had to be one of the best experiences of my life. This summer I hope to be a part of returning that blessing.

Thanks to each of you who are joining in this initiative!

Prayer

i stated in my first blog that i wasn't much of a blogger and didn't know what this would look like. i've never been one to assume i would know what tomorrow entails, but surely things are looking different than i would have imagined them for this summer.
many of you have learned about my father's illness through this network and/or your involvement with the tour. i will come back to that topic, but first i want to start this by telling you about someone else's father. it is the father of a very… Continue

Riding Well

After second day…
Yesterday was a beast… but TONS of fun!
Day 1 was 68 miles – 30 of which were climbing in the mountains. Nothing like riding the flat terrain of Dallas. If there was any part of the trip I may have felt unprepared for, this was it. But… I must say (not to be proud) I kicked butt and flew over the mountains. Had to be a God thing… a Louisiana boy climbing mountains by bike… that’s laughable! I know I was surprised/in awe of both the beauty and challenge.

Day 2 was 67 miles of p… Continue

How to Blog???

Alright peeps...
I've never done this whole "blog" thing before and not sure what its gonna look like either. Guess my goal will be to get on when I get a chance (or when I feel like it) and fill my friends and foes in on what's going down. Basically, I'll be real and maybe someone will read about it.

That said...
Thanks to each you. You have all been more than supportive. Actually, it's near ridiculously moving how supportive many of you have been. Your encouragement and love has been a huge.… Continue

just want you to know that yesterday was a long day at camp, and i considered taping arms around trees yesterday. thanks to your bold jail-worthy suggestion. in the end, i decided against it and showed up today with a brand new discipline regime. let's just say camp will look alot cleaner from here and out, thanks to the fighting, biting, and spitting that goes on among my boys.

Thanks for posting about your Angela's dad. I will definitely keep him, and his family in my prayers.
I'm keeping your dad in my prayers too. Keep us posted on the surgery and your dad! I really enjoy praying for you guys and, although I only met you briefly in L.A.(seems forever ago now), I feel like I'm somehow part of the team through all this blogging and praying. Thanks for that.

Just heard about your father and just wanted to send a short note of thanks for all you have done on this tour to date. You don't know me but I have been praying for you all each day as you have gone forward. Those prayers will continue for you and your Dad. Take care.

Hey, Matt, I met you briefly at the bbq in Sta Monica, and you came to visit my church that morning - Ecclesia. Just read the posting about your dad. I'm very sorry to hear that. I pray for you guys daily, but will pray more for you, and your family. I'm sure your dad is very proud of you for what you're doing.
