well...we've made it...

it’s hard to fathom exactly what’s transpired over the last two months…

it’s even harder to put into words…

and even harder than that to put down on paper…

We’ve finally made it, we crossed the whole of the U.S. on bicycles. We started riding down the Pacific Coast, hopped 4000 feet over mountains, rode miles and miles through what seemed like a never ending desert which turned into never ending Texas, climbed through the Appalachian Mountains, and coasted across Delaware to finish on the… Continue

highs and lows

Let me preface this by saying: I never cry. If I had to guess I’d say that it’s happened no more than five times in my long life.

I don’t blame it on television or video games, I don’t think I’ve been desensitized, it just feels like maybe I don’t let things weigh me down, it’s not that I avoid dealing with them, or that I stuff my emotions.

I just never cry.

Ever.

Even if there’s a fire.

But today was different…it’s been a rough last few days, I woke up Saturday with some mild swelling and… Continue

the beginning of something great...

Well, we're here, this is it...the moment I've been waiting months for...
It's a mix of emotions knowing that tomorrow we're really doing it...
mostly I'm feeling stoked...

I arrived out here in Los Angeles on thursday along with the rest of the team. Up until then, I'm ashamed to say, the furthest I had ever travelled west was to Tulsa, Oklahoma, and it was exciting to fly in to a new city and be able to see things I've never seen before (it just now donned on me that this summer pretty much e… Continue

it's been a while...

i've been pretty busy as of late, but the light at the end of the tunnel is finally showing itself. classes finish up this week and my last final is on wednesday. it's crazy to look back on this last year, time sure has flown by.

as far as gearing up and prepping for the tour, things have been going well. i started out training by myself, i didn't really know anyone around my campus who rode regularly; i was talking with my uncle about a month ago and we were discussing cycling and all that jaz… Continue

great weather, bad drivers, and a flat tire...

today started out as an incredibly amazing day. i finally got back to my dorm after an amazing spring break at 3:30 am, slept 'til 8, did some homework, went to class, ate some lunch, went to another class, and finally got back out on the bike.

it was a beautiful day with the temperature hovering around 65 and little to know wind, absolutely perfect for a good, long bike ride. i got clipped in just a little before 5 pm, hoping to spend the last two and a half hours before dusk cranking out 45 o… Continue

Well today it's 40 and windy, I rode for about an hour into the wind and it only took me 40 min to get back. I'm hoping I get to ride in some heat before we get to the desert this summer.

awesome - just let me know and I'll make sure I'm not working. I'm just north of Chicago - in Evanston. As of today I've only ridden on my own, so it would be GREAT if it worked out!
