That is a bummer to hear about your trip falling through, but I am really glad to hear that you guys are working toward a new opportunity. I am sure that God has reasons in his timing for you guys. I am excited to hear about how things unfold for you.

The bike trip is off again! I am not riding this year, but I think I am where I need to be here in Nashville. The riders left LA yesterday and are in San Diego now I believe. It's exciting to see this happening again. Sorry I won't get to visit with you guys and crash in your basement again this year though. . .

Lenny! What's the news on the Mission Trip front?

Lenny! So great to hear from you. It is literally an answer to prayer, as the circumstances of my day today and life have worn a little heavy. You are a man of impeccable timing. Thank you for speaking into my life in the ways you have.

I am so excited that you and your wife will be going on a mission trip. I remember well Mike talking with you guys about the mission trips he's been on. I know that you will be so blessed in your efforts. It really is a remarkable thing, the way God calls us out from our patterns and routines and leads us to places we never have dreamed apart from Him.

Thank you for sharing your heart and home with us members of the Ride:Well team. It is a true encouragement to me today.

Glad you like the CD too. Lorraine, isn't actually a real person. That song was just a kind of playground to think about relationships and hope. The way hope doesn't mind pain so much because of the beauty it sees. I'm glad that you like it. Thanks Lenny.

Keep in touch!

Your timing is so weirdly amazing. I seem to have been thinking about you and your family a lot in the last few weeks. I was almost to the point of calling the Roanoke Best Buy and asking for "Lenny". I must say that your message came at the most perfect and opportune time.I always seem to struggle a bit with the whole Christmas season. I so try to focus on the essence of what Christmas really is and how I fit into the story. My Christmases haven't always been that perfect one portrayed by the mass media and advertisers bent on corrupting our understanding. Thus, I strive for all the wrong things and move in the wrong directions unless I am on guard. I truly desire His presence as opposed to "presents". I have worked hard on this for this Christmas and your note was just so what I was needing to hear. I am so excited for you and your wife to be able to go on a mission trip. Your life will forever be changed...GET READY. I am just so completely encouraged by what you said. As much as what you said is true, I sometimes just feel like I was just a guy who rode a bike...a lot. I do know that it was more than that, and these notes I infrequently receive are confirmation to me that people were touched. I am so amazingly blessed to have met you...(no accident) and spend time with you. My only true regret is that I do not live closer to Roanoke. You can email me @ lasttofallthedogs@hotmail.com and fill me in on your mission trip and other goings on. Also, I have a blog atif your are interested in some of my random thoughts. I hope you have a joyous and love filled Christmas

Lenny,
There were places and times and conversations, on our journey, that were totally "God moments". Our conversation at your house on Sun. night was one of the big ones for the three of us. Your words resonated in my head as I struggled in almost joyous bliss on the Blueridge Parkway. I so love your symbolism as those circles continue on to this day as people still are being impacted even after this ride has come to an end. I was so sad on our last day as I grieved the end of something amazing in my life abruptly grinding to a halt at the waters edge. But, I realized the real ride is just beginning and who knows where that possibly goes. I do know that my God will be at my side and taking me somewhere I never imagined possible. I am honored to have known, if only for a very short time, a wise man like yourself and I am a better person for having met you. Thank you !

Lenny,
Thank you for your comment and your description of concentric circles below. Mike, Drew and myself were so blessed to be in your home and to share conversation with you. Our talk that night was something that Mike and I returned to multiple times on the remainder of the trip. It is one of so many instances where our good Father blessed the Ride:well team with the right word at the right moment. Your wisdom, conviction and insight are appreciated, not to mention the hospitality of you and your family.

Thank you!

Recently the Ridewell team came through Roanoke. We had the blessing of sharing our home with Mike, Drew and David. They visited the week before the tour was ending. Tired, filled with thoughts these three shared their stories with my wife, Lori, and I. These men were strong with the Lord before the ride. But it became evident as the night went on, that the Lord was making a mighty work with each of them through the ride. And the sharing that took place was....amazing. These riders, are growing still. And helping the others they come in contact with to grow as well.

If you look at their effect in another way they are doing an amazing work of God. Consider the concentric circle. If we start with the innermost circle they are affecting their own lives as individuals. The next circle would be how they are effecting each other as they ride; the fellowship amongst each other is creating life long bonds. Another circle would be people like my wife and I who have been impacted by meeting them. yet another circle would be the Churches and events they participated in along the way. Perhaps the largest circle these fine people have created is the 100,000 people who have clean water where they did not before.

Finally, imagine that these concentric circles are ripples from a rock being thrown into a pond. The ripples continue on after the rock has been dropped in. These folks have relied on the rock of Jesus. Those ripples will never end!! Hallelujah!!!
