Turn your volume up

This is a video Sara Groves shared during the benefits concert held for the Ride:Well Tour and Blood:Water Mission in Tyler, TX last week. Its' message is too powerful for me not to pass on to all of you. That said, turn your volume up and enjoy :)

You know you're a cross-country cyclist when...

1) you start to think you look good in spandex
2) you get really excited when you see a good tree and you start calling it a bathroom
3) you despise bar-shaped food
4) your topic of conversation often revolves around what color your pee is
5) someone asks how you are doing, and it is completely acceptable to answer "Good, except my crotch hurts
a little"
6) your limbs don't always bend like you think they are going to

Where to start?

Where to start? We're already closing in on our halfway point of the tour and I have yet to blog about any of my experiences, reflections or lessons learned during the past three weeks (of which there are many). Apologies to those who I'd promised to keep better informed of my journey.. please understand that you have not been forgotten, but that time and energy have been scarce to do so! At a quick glance I could summarize our progress by listing that we have been in 4 states, crossed 3 mountai… Continue

"Your face doesn't show that you have suffered"

And now for whatever reason, I feel as though it's as good a time as any to speak on it.

Hey Margie-today looks like the day when you will reach the east coast. Congrats on a wonderful ride. I am sure it has been life changing for all and the affirmations have come in tenfold. I have certainly spread the word here in State College. Take care.

Hey Marg!! You guys must be in Blacksburg by now. Hope you finally got to see and the team got to stay in your apartment!! Most expensive night of your life! Unfortunately can't get out of my weekend at the hospital so can't make it to DC. See you when you get home.

hi friend..miss you too! Life is good... let's see... moved in, locked myself out day one and had to break in, i've been man-handled into being charge nurse at work of which I am not thrilled and waiting not-so-patiently for my up coming vacations! That better? :-) and ditto to rho's comment....

was thinkin about you this morning as i was checking the site for new pictures...every smiling picture of you makes me miss you that much more...::sighs:: BUT, i know that there will come a day in the not-so-distant future when we will be able to hug each other and spill our guts for four hours at cornerstone...that thought makes me have the best day for sure!

Hi there. I was able to see the pictures. YUP! absolutely beaming!!! You're so beautiful. I hope you are doing well. I had to laugh when I read your blog. It describes you perfectly....incredibly stubborn but also the only person I know that comes close to true altruism. i'll check back later. ~Diana
