I am now in the part of this summer that I have dreaded, longed for, and wondered about. Three days of riding left. At the end of the week, I will ride my bike into the Atlantic Ocean. And then the tour will be done.

We are in Holly Springs Mississippi, and just had the dinner of a lifetime.

Last night in Marvell Jacob Childerson used an extended simile to describe the (very, very good) banana pudding. He said, "This banana pudding is like if there were an unlicensed carpenter putting up a shelf in Heaven and the shelf fell out of Heaven and down to Earth because he put it up wrong and we were to eat that shelf. The people of East Texas have been immensely generous. And that's saying something, when you've been celebrated as a guest of honor the whole way across the southwestern U.S. Our time in Dallas was beautiful and busy.
