Interesting fact of the week: Don't mess with texas is a litter campaign not a threat.

Take note: check out youtube for our week 1 video. ride well tour week 1.

Shannon: did not get the package in alamogordo but they have promised to forward it to me in dallas. yay!

High point of the week: adventure in the hailstorm. refer to blog o' bargo. and riding the tandem bike for 30 miles.

Low point: this ain't getting any easier!!

Plea: please forgive me for not blogging more often, but there is always hope for the sinners like me. i will try harder.

So, we crossed into texas this afternoon and made oh such an event out of it! We took pictures and sang country songs. I even did a little two-steppin'. Just wait until you see the pictures! Hilarious! We were required to leave in a hurry due to a major storm moving in the distance. So we rode on to Plains, TX which was about 15 miles away. We are currently staying in a host home there that has provided enough beds for all of us to enjoy and even gave me some sweet potatoes (I passed on the Texas BBQ brisket). The town population is 1450 but the people have big personalities. Remember, everything is bigger in Texas. We are planning on 4 more days of riding before arriving in Dallas. We are all looking forward to that because of the 3 successive days of rest that we will receive there. Thank y'all for actually wanting me to blog. Our days tend to be sun up to sun down and internet has been scarce lately but, If I'm ever being a lazy blogger then make sure to check out Gregg Mwendwa's blogs. He is the team blogger and is usually typing on his laptop as he rides, eats, and even sometimes while he is in the restroom.

Hi Jessica,
My name is Jerry and I met you last Sunday at the Huntington Beach pier. Just wanted to say hi and see how the trip is going. It sounds hard but you wanted a challenge. Have fun and it gets cooler along the route. Bye for now.

30 miles on Tandem? I thought you hated riding those bikes?!? I'm glad things are going well though and I'm glad they're gonna forward the package to ya'll! We were a little worried that you guys didn't get it when none of us heard from you! :) Thanks for posting! :)

I too sent something to NM. I was going to track down the church this morning and give them a call. So glad they are of like mind and will forward the packages. Welcome to Texas. See you in Dallas! Wish I could be in Tyler too. In fact, I would have met you at the state line if it had been possible. So excited that ya'll have come so far. You are the people for the job!
