1. The people

Ok, that's a short list. I know. Let's try a list of things I don't like about Texas

1.It's like 110 degrees here
2. The roads are absolutely horrendous. No, seriously, after 2 days in Texas, I had to buy new tires because mine were torn to shreds. What's funny is that we were complaining about the sales tax to a guy at a local store, and he said that they have the best roads in America because their taxes go to the roads. I laughed so hard until I found out he wasn't kidding, he really thought Texas had the best roads. Which brings me to. . .
3. My Texas friends from back home who think their state is the best at everything ever. Yes, they even think they have the best roads. There's something wrong with them.

In other news, we've gotten to serve at 2 local rescue missions the past 2 days which has been such an amazing experience. In fact, over the past year or two, the homeless people in one of the missions have raised almost $6000 by themselves. That's right, the homeless with absolutely no money have raised that much money for those in need in Africa. That has been so encouraging.

Can't wait to be back in California!!!

Wow Anthony! You must be exceptionally hot, tired and sore tonight! In every phone call home, you have had nothing but enthusiastic praise and admiration for the many people you have met, served and stayed with! I know that your most intimate and grueling interaction has actually been WITH THE ROAD ITSELF, but don't forget the human interactions you have been priveleged to enjoy! These people who are so proud of their roads are the same people who have given of themselves to help you, your teammates and the people you ride for half a world away! There is a lot to love about Texas, just in them! Drink lots, take a cool shower, sleep, and wake up refreshed! I know you will see with different eyes in the morning! You ride with my love always, and the people of Texas are that loves conduit when I can't show you myself! God is arranging that for me! I love you!
