a morning off.

it is so weird to wake up in the morning and have nothing to do. i mean, obviously it's great. it's too bad for me that i went to bed at 2am and somehow woke up at 8:30. not a good choice. i guess ill have to take a nap today. so, we are in nashville, tennessee now which means we are so close to the end it is starting to make me cry. i havent cried like a full blown me kind of cry yet, but there have been a few teary moments recently. it's crazy to think of the me before this trip who when aske… Continue

monthiversary.

yesterday marked the ride:well team's monthiversary. we met each other on june 5th. it is so weird to think that because we are a family, a tight knit family. also, it's weird to think of just a month in general; it's not that long of a time to completely change a person. now, as there are still 3 weeks left, i am a completely new person already, and i know that even though 3 weeks seem short, they will bring more change, closer friendships, and stronger legs. one month has gone by since the da… Continue

tyler, texas.

we are in tyler, texas. today we rode about 80 miles. it was a good ride, some bumpy roads, some hills, and some dogs, but in the end it was amazing. we went to the ride:well concert sponsered by a bunch of tyler, texas churches. sara groves was amazing, and so was don. we went up on stage and got a standing ovation because aaron smith basically milked it out of the crowd; it was still awesome though. and we got to meet our homeless friends who raised $2,000 and counting for blood:water mission.… Continue

"It's a great day to be alive"

it took me a while to come up with a name for this blog post. but this song was stuck in my head all day yesterday, and it was arguably the best day of my life. first of all though i would like to recap since my last post which i think was when we were in alamogordo. we are in Red Oak, Texas now which means a lot has happend. we rode into texas last week and had a blast crossing the border. we had to ride 15 miles past the border to a small town called plains, texas. of course though, when we g… Continue

i love sundays.

so we are in alamogordo new mexico right now. yesterday we rode 85 miles to 15 miles past roswell new mexico. i didnt see any aliens, and im pretty dissapointed about that. lets see, this week has been an interesting, difficult, and life changing week. monday was mountain day again (it's seems to be a pattern of sorts, i call it mountain monday and sing the song, "it's just another mountain monday, i wish it was sunday"...you know). i made it 50 out of 89 miles, then i helped in the truck (our… Continue

I'm praying for you today as you get back on the bike and ride 90, even though you don't want to. I'm praying for tailwinds for you. (I'm praying for headwinds for Don. See his blog.) I think it'd be cool if some of you get the opportunity to be at a dedication ceremony for some of these wells that you helped build, so you can see the work of your hands (and feet!) completed. That'd be rockin' awesome. Hang in there, Erin!

Hey, Erin, I've been following your posts and praying for you guys from since day 1. I met you at a bbq in Sta Monica, and I think you came to visit my church that morning - Ecclesia. Anyway, thanks for just being you on these blogs, for being honest and vulnerable. I love reading them. Tho I don't know you, I feel like I get a really good sense of your personality. I pray for you often for these rides cuz I know they're hard. Keep on ridin' and bloggin'! Keep up the great work!!
